Wednesday 19 January

Reminders: Please post all your enviromental responses on yesterdays blog.
Friday is your midterm. Once again it will consist of questions pulled directly from the three news grammar handouts. You simply need to review the correct responses, the idea being that you will understand the grammar behind them.

  1. Climate Change: Firstly, a whole revamp of how the transition from fossil fuel is being converted to electricity or ethanol needs to be changed. Ethanol is bad for older motors and wears down internal parts faster than regular unleaded gas, bad for anyone with an older car. I ask what is the main way of creating electricity, burning coal...whats that do to the environment? That is just as bad if not worse than gasoline. Therefore, more research should be spent trying to create a better solution toward the fabricated fossil fuel shortage, there is no shortage, because of restrictions placed on drilling in the u.s. from liberals, it is very difficult to even drill in the u.s. where oil is plentiful. Also, the Middle East, has trillions of gallons of gas stored, and because are a large provider for the world, they are holding all these countries by the balls, milking millions of dollars for oil. Gas used to cost $.25 a gallon, what happened? Their needs to be a meeting of oil buyers and oil suppliers, at this meeting the purchasers need to explain the circumstances, or purchasers will take this problem into their own hands. Also, the whole prius movement also is a waste, because no matter how many restrictions and taxes the government will put on old cars in a feeble attempt to conserve doesn't make sense because all the gas they are saving may father and I and everyone i know that get 8 miles to the gallon doesn't give a shit how much gas cost because it is more motivation to keep those old, beautiful works of art on the road, back when they made cars that lasted not this garbage on the roads today, over-priced plastic garbage.

  2. Family Planning: Trying to limit family now? You're trying to say a couple can't have kids because of the planet size, yes obviously don't have 15 kids, but it's a parents right to birth children and not have to worry about getting scolded for creating children for the worlds future. Maybe there could be a suggestion of how many, or maybe we could stop wasting money on keeping prisoners away for life, the death penalty doesn't need to cost much a bullet is cheaper than life without parole, then their with be more food and resources, i agree to a point of moderation but no one has the right to limit you, if you really feel like you want a lot of children then so be it, but use better judgement make sure you can support them, without government assistance. It sounds hypocritical i agree to the family planning, but what i don;t agree with are other people butting in to your family's business. All i'm saying is use judgement when planning your future.

It we as want to start somewhere to help with climate change then we have to stop off shore drilling. I hope that no one has forgotten the giant oil spill that happened in the Gulf of Mexico. I hope that no one has forgotten how that one oil spill affected the whole economy of New Orleans. This has to stop but it will not be done over night we slowly have to use less and less of fossils fuels. It seems that every day I heard about the price of gas going up and up. This is crazy, if we want this change to happen then we all have to be together in this.

Willie only speaks the truth. We are having wars over oil that we (Americans) are dependent on, because of that fact we are polluting are earth. We need to slowly stop using gas and oil and start using other energy efficient sources because, lets be honest we can not stop using gas and oil all at once. Over time we have to switch to solar power, wind power, and other energy sources. This process will be long, hard, and tedious but I believe we as one nation can do this.

    Climate change

The reduction of greenhouse gas emissions can start with the cars that Americans drive. Over time the popularity of hybrid cars has increased but wouldn’t the environment be better with the electric car. Every day I see commercials about how car companies are going green by promoting their new expensive hybrid cars or how they are working on the car of the future. I think the reason why it is taking so long for those electric cars is because the huge oil and gas companies will not let this technology come to the market. When they talk about green they are talking about cash money. It is all a conspiracy.

Most people want to help make the world better by recycling but sometimes it seems too hard so people do the easy thing and through trash on the ground. If there were more government laws that help people recycle or dispose harmful chemicals then the environment would be better and people would be safe. If this happens then there would be a decrease in widespread man made pollution. Also we have to incorporate recycling in to the educational system so the children can learn the importance of it and do it as they grow up. If you want to rebuild any system or break a cycle you always have to start at the foundation.

People should plan their families instead of randomly having many kids. It makes it hard on the mother and father. Also have some sex advice, wear condoms, use birth control, or at least wait till you’re an adult. I am tired of the cycle of bad parents. Young parents who don’t love their kids, the kids are angry they take it out on other people like teachers. If this cycle were broken then there would be better families, happier kids, and higher-test scores.

Sadly the only way people will learn is when we run out of fossil fuels. It seems that every day I heard about the price of gas going up and i people don t know what to do. This is crazy, if we want this change to happen then we have to start with our youth.
